Greenhouse lab

Since a couple of years I work extra in the greenhouse lab at Umeå Plant Science Center /UPSC. The lab serves the scientists who have ongoing research projects on Arabidopsis and Populus plants, with purpose to find out how plants react on climate change. The environment in the greenhouses is very extreme, with super exact control on temperature, light, humidity and nutritients. The plants undergoes DNA modifications to make clear what happens during special circumstances.

This place, with its extreme, unnatural environment, has been an important mind opener for me and my art practice. It has enlightened questions about how I face nature, and how humanity use the nature.
